Set up a child account and agree on the boundaries together.
Set up an account together
- Sign in to your own adult Joying account.
- Open Settings → Family, then choose Create a child account.
- Add their handle, display name and real date of birth. Choose a strong password and keep it private. A child account created here does not need its own email.
- Talk through who they know online and how to ask for help. Controls work best alongside that conversation.
Manage messages and breaks
Open the child’s row in Family settings. Choose Friends only or No one for new direct messages. Pause activity makes the account read-only; you can unpause it from the same place.
If they already have an account
They can use the guardian invitation flow shown in their Family settings. An account under 13 needs guardian consent before ordinary use. Use your own sign-in when approving a request, and only accept responsibility for a child you actually look after.
What these controls do not show
You cannot read a child’s chats through Family settings. Ask them to show you anything worrying, and use the block and report tools together.
Deleting a child account
For an active child account you created, open its Family settings and choose Delete child account. Confirm the child’s handle and your own password. A linked account that you did not create must be deleted by its account holder or handled through a verified support request.
